CHILLIWACK, B.C. — Ownership of Elements Casino Chilliwack has officially transitioned to the Ts’elxwéyeqw Group, marking a significant milestone for Indigenous economic development in the Fraser Valley.
The transaction, which received all necessary regulatory approvals, completes an agreement first announced in late 2025 between the Ts’elxwéyeqw Group and Great Canadian Entertainment. The casino is now under the ownership of an entity affiliated with Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Ltd., representing participating communities of the Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe.
The Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe is made up of seven First Nations whose traditional territory encompasses the Chilliwack River watershed. Community leaders have described the acquisition as a long-term investment that will help generate economic opportunities, support community initiatives, and strengthen financial independence for future generations.
Elements Casino Chilliwack has been a major entertainment destination in the region since opening in 2012. The facility offers slot machines, live and electronic table games, bingo, dining, and live entertainment, attracting visitors from across the Fraser Valley.
While ownership has changed, guests can expect the casino to continue normal operations. Great Canadian Entertainment is providing transitional support to help ensure a seamless transfer of the business during the change in ownership.
The acquisition reflects a broader trend of increasing Indigenous ownership of major commercial enterprises throughout British Columbia. In recent years, several First Nations have acquired gaming and hospitality properties as part of long-term strategies focused on economic growth, employment, and community investment.
Leaders involved in the transaction have expressed optimism that local ownership will strengthen ties between the casino and the surrounding community while creating lasting benefits for the participating First Nations and the Fraser Valley as a whole.
